Chapel Teachers for Summer 2010
Written by Dean Christian

I am excited to introduce our chapel teachers for the summer of 2010.  These men love the Word of God and they enjoy teaching it to children and teens in the camp setting.  It is our privilege to have them with us this summer.

Keith McCracken, from Homer City, PA, has been a chapel speaker at Camp K for the last 5 years.  He is also the Machining Technology instructor at the Indiana County Technology Center where he has taught for the last 15 years. He is very involved with his local church, Sovereign Grace Church of Indiana, serving on the worship team and leading a homeschooling co-op.  He and his wife, Melissa, have seven children ranging in age from 15 to 3 years old (five biological and two adopted). He enjoys spending time with his family, doing home projects, and speaking at Camp K.

Tom Kurtz

Middle School Mania

For over 30 years Tom has enjoyed the beauty of Camp K as a camper, worker, counselor, hiker, swimmer, and retreat taker. Now as a husband, father, and pastor he writes, "It is a continual joy to introduce children and adults to the Camp and more importantly to God as the Creator and Savior."  Tom has the rare privilege to have enjoyed the camp with his grandfather, father, and now his own children.

Craig Todd

Kings Kids Specialty Camp

Todd FamilyBorn in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, I always loved a good snow. Although I was not born into a Christian family, God had a plan for my life. I attended church faithfully (even though my parents did not go until I was older) by riding the bus every Sunday. I am a true product of our church’s bus ministry back in the 70’s and 80’s.
I was saved at a young age while attending Woodcrest, but as I grew older, I wanted to attend the Christian School. I finally got my wish and was able to attend the Christian Academy during my high school years. By attending Woodcrest, I was grounded in God’s Word on a daily basis and the Lord was quietly working in my heart and life.
I knew the Lord was calling me to work with youth, but was not sure in what capacity. I finally felt called to be involved in Christian Education as I thought I would be able to minister to youth on a daily basis. I believe in Christian education even more now than when I first began 20 years ago because I know what it did for me in my life.
After graduating from Northland International University, I took a position at Mifflin County Christian Academy where I am currently serving in my 20th year. I am the Administrator at MCCA, and I also teach some classes and coach the varsity boy’s soccer team – which we won our first State Championship this past fall.
God has given me a great family. I have a beautiful wife Halley, and 3 great children. Luke is 11 and in 5th grade, Emma is 8 and in 3rd grade, and Lilly is 4 and into everything. We just recently added a new member to our family – Dunkin – our new black lab.
We love being a part of the Camp K ministry and consider it a privilege to minister along side the many who are involved with the camp. We are looking forward to see what God is going to do at camp this coming summer.

Aaron, Michael, Seth, & Caleb Hoffman

Youth Quest

Hoffman Family

"The outdoors are something that we have grown to love.  Our dad is a lumberman and a farmer so we grew up spending a lot of time outdoors.  We came to know Christ as our personal Lord and Savior in our early teen years. We then began to mix our love for the outdoors with our love for God as we started to head to camp in the summer. Camp was a good foundation for us in learning the truths of God's Word and establishing a heart thirsting for God. We are very excited to be with you all this summer for a week to dive into God's Word. We can't wait to see how He is going to change hearts and lives this summer."

Caleb and Aaron are graduates of Northland International University with degrees in Bible. Seth and Michael are currently students at Northland. All four men have a desire to know God better and to help young people know Him better.
