What to Expect at CIT Camp

CIT Camp is unique from Camp K’s other weeks of summer camp in a couple of ways.

  1. Your role for the first week (a teen camp week) is similar to a regular teen camper just with added sessions. You will stay in a cabin with the other campers who are enrolled in CIT Camp. There will be a cabin for the girls and a cabin for the boys.

  2. You will have the option to stay over the weekend at Camp.

  3. Your role for the second week (a junior camp week) as a CIT Camper will be functioning in a variety of roles. You will serve in the kitchen and on program staff. You will serve alongside our summer staff and learn about the different areas of camp.  You will also spend a day as a co-counselor beneath and alongside the main counselor in a cabin.  You will have the opportunity to impact, teach, disciple, and counsel these younger kids under the guidance and supervision of the main counselor and camp staff.

  4. You will have scheduled times each day where you meet with just the other CIT Campers and camp staff leaders to have teaching times from God’s Word on leadership principles.

  5. This is a 2 week camp as the program continues over the weekend between the second week. In preparation for the second week, CIT Campers will do their laundry here at Camp, rest up, and participate in any staff activities. The Director or Leadership Staff will take them to church on Sunday morning. They will be well-supervised over the weekend as they learn to act as staff as they prepare for an upcoming camp week.

  6. These weeks are preparatory for potentially coming on summer staff at Camp Kanesatake in the future.

  7. Complete 3 reference forms. Please email this link to 3 different adults: a pastor, teacher, coach, mentor, or employer. They can complete the reference form online. and the form will come directly to our camp office. Here is the link: https://www.mycampk.com/summer-staff
